If you would like further information, please refer to https://thephilosophersdaughters.com
Synopsis Why care for the weak and vulnerable if survival is all that matters? Why are people so concerned with fashions and the labels on clothes? Isn’t religion just a matter of being conditioned by your parents? How do we explain the Big Bang? What is love?
Philosopher and theologian Dr. Peter Vardy has collected 54 of the best questions about life asked by his young daughters Petra and Thora, attempted to answer them himself and gathered additional answers from leading figures in a variety of fields from across the world.
“There is nothing as disarming and refreshing as a couple of young people getting together and asking the big questions about life and the search for meaning. It’s pleasing and rewarding when big minds with lots of experience have the humility to answer these questions in an accessible way. That’s the surprising delight of The Philosopher’s Daughters.” Fr. Frank Brennan SJ, Rector Newman College, University of Melbourne
About Wombat Education
Before the pandemic, Wendy Rowe traded as Wombat Education and organised student and teacher conferences for Dr. Peter Vardy from her home in rural New South Wales since 2007. Previously, she lived and worked in France, in the financial world.
The aim of Wombat Education was to help schools and teachers improve the standard of their offering in the broad areas of Philosophy, Ethics and Religious and Values Education. Wombat events stood for academic rigour and aimed to show the relevance and importance of these areas for education and for
society as a whole.
Sadly, since the pandemic, it is virtually impossible to organize this type of conference at the present
time.
